New TRUMPF Subsidiary Opens in Russia

Ditzingen/Moscow, February 2, 2006 - According to TRUMPF, there is a huge growth potential in the Russian market just waiting to be tapped into. That's why Europe's largest machine tool manufacturer is opening a subsidiary in Moscow. TRUMPF OOO will start operations in the beginning of February 2006. The corporate form OOO stands for Obschestvo Ogranitschennoy Otwetstwennostju and is the equivalent of a limited liability corporation. The subsidiary will sell TRUMPF machine tools, power tools and laser products as well as offer comprehensive services.

TRUMPF OOO will begin with just 30 employees. "We are not launching this new subsidiary from scratch,“ says Vasily Dianov, Managing Director of the new TRUMPF subsidiary, in describing its excellent starting position. "The majority of the employees were already working for the 'Moscow Technical and Commercial Center.' For many years, TRUMPF has been working very successfully with this company, whose owner is retiring.“ The company hopes to "share in the growth of this major Eastern European market."

With 37 percent growth in the 2004/05 fiscal year (ending June 30), Eastern Europe contributed considerably to the sales volume of the TRUMPF Group, which totaled 1.4 billion Euros. The company is expecting double-digit growth rates in Central and Eastern Europe for the current fiscal year as well. So far TRUMPF is represented in this region with subsidiaries in Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
