TRUMPF expands its headquarters

Groundbreaking on the 50 million Euro project is planned for fall 2007. The first employees are expected to move into the new buildings with an approximate total area of 30,000 square meters in mid-2009. By undertaking this addition, the family-owned company is preparing its largest location for further growth.

TRUMPF President Nicola Leibinger-Kammüller said during a press conference on May 04, 2007, “Part of our growth strategy is to expand or at least maintain our locations in Germany.” The planned expansion represents the German company’s fulfillment of a promise made to employees in an Alliance for Jobs agreement. Moreover, TRUMPF is using the expansion to consolidate under one roof departments that had been located in leased spaces elsewhere. At the same time, older factory sections are to be renovated for which the company needs alternative spaces.

The modern buildings will be planned and built by Barkow Leibinger Architects of Berlin. The architects are responsible for numerous TRUMPF buildings both in Germany and abroad.

An office building and an application center for the TRUMPF Laser Technology Business Field are planned next door to the existing laser factory. The Machine Tools Business Field will get two new buildings – a development wing and a combined production and development hall. Up to 800 employees are expected to work in the two office buildings. The location is designed for up to 3,000 employees. The company currently has 2,000 employees in Ditzingen.

During fiscal year 2005/2006, TRUMPF recorded global sales of 1.65 billion Euros. Forecasts of the current fiscal year ending on June 30 are also positive. The technology group is again expecting double-digit growth.
