TRUMPF Opens New Offices in Seoul

Ditzingen/Seoul, June 12, 2007 – TRUMPF officially opened its company headquarters in the TRUTEC building in Seoul, South Korea on June 12, 2007. The new offices are located in “Digital Media City”, a business hub in Seoul with ideal connections to the city center as well as to the airport.

Four of the altogether twelve storeys are used by TRUMPF Korea. They house the sales and service force as well as a showroom and a training center, offering ideal conditions for machine presentations and customer trainings. The building with its unique façade was designed and planned by Barkow Leibinger Architects, Berlin.

TRUMPF has been present in Korea with an own subsidiary since 1997 and has since become one of the leading machine tool companies. With 75 employees TRUMPF Korea achieved sales of € 60 million in the fiscal year 2005/06 (June 30, 2006). It offers nearly the entire product portfolio of the TRUMPF Group for the Korean market, machine tools and power tools for sheet metal processing, lasers and laser system for the industrial material processing as well as power supplies for plasma processes, induction heating and laser excitation. More than 300 guests attended the ceremony, including Heung-kwon Kim, Seoul’s Vice Mayor. The management of TRUMPF was represented by Martin Benzinger, Vice President of the TRUMPF Group and Executive Vice President East Asia.
