When cutting parts out with conventional punching tools, unsightly nibbling marks usually arise, especially along visible edges. This is a great drawback compared to laser cutting.

The MultiShear tool produces stepless cutting edges which attain the quality of laser-cut edges. Unlike laser cuts, however, they do not have an oxide layer and, consequently, do not need to be reworked after being painted. The superb cut quality is achieved on outside and on inside contours. The tool is extremely well suited for producing common slitting cuts. The die of the TRUMPF MultiShear is fitted with brushes to reduce scratches during processing.
