Foil Slitting Tool |
|
| | The foil slitting tool is a standard tool that slits the plastic foil on the sheet. For this precision work, the punch is fitted with a scribing needle of high-strength brass.
Mode of function:
The punch is lowered onto the sheet surface. The needle penetrates the foil and slides across the sheet during positioning, thereby slitting the foil along the path of motion. The sheet remains unmarred.
Advantages at a glance:
- The foil can be slit using a simple standard tool.
- Specific areas or segments of the foil can be removed individually. Areas where components – such as fittings – will later be mounted can therefore be exposed as required.
- The protective foil remains attached to the rest of the sheet during the process and is removed after assembly.
- Large expanses of foil can be divided into smaller segments, significantly reducing the amount of force needed when detaching the foil.
- The sheet remains unmarred when settings are correct.
- There is no need to adjust the tool to the foil thickness (up to 0.25 mm).
