Markus Würzburg, Parts Production Group Leader at TRUMPF in Ditzingen
How did your journey start at TRUMPF and which stops have you made along the way? What position do you hold currently?
I have been with TRUMPF for a long time, since 1999 to be precise. I started work in the punching tool production division at the site in Gerlingen (Germany). I performed all the operations that are typically involved in punching tool production, such as milling and CAM programming. After eight years, I decided to do further training at evening school to become a state-certified engineer. Then I worked as a production engineer for two years. Since 2012 I have been a group leader in the parts production unit at the Ditzingen site and am responsible for cubic production, logistics, final processing, and the precision measurement room.
Why did you choose TRUMPF?
I wanted to work in an innovative company in order to develop myself professionally and personally. And I was offered this opportunity.
What do you like best about your tasks?
As a high-tech company, TRUMPF is constantly changing and is always working on the next product or technological innovation. As the company always focuses on new topics and activities, this brings with it opportunities for personal development, and I value these greatly. Things are never routine or stagnant here.
What is the most exciting project/topic that you have worked on?
The planning of a flexible production system was definitely one of my most exciting tasks as it was so complex. In line with Industry 4.0, we realized this major project with several machines, a robot cell, a transport and storage system, and a ToolMaster for equipping the production machines.
What do you value in particular in TRUMPF as an employer?
Having an excellent work environment that challenges employees but also stimulates them with opportunities for further training. I also appreciate the flexible working time models, for example mobile working. It is also important to me personally that I can identify with my employer and my work. The social engagement of TRUMPF and the positive image of the company play a role in this.
