How did you arrive at TRUMPF and which stops have you made along the way?

After completing my bachelor's thesis and a six-month internship abroad at TRUMPF, my first role was an advisor for lean management. After that I went abroad and spent almost two years at the Southampton site (UK).

I was then an advisor to the management in Ditzingen and then became production manager in Switzerland. During this time, I also completed my master's degree alongside my job.

What position do you hold currently?

I'm responsible for coordinating the "Industry 4.0" program, i.e. I coordinate the multi-year program for digital transformation at TRUMPF.

What is the most exciting project/topic that you have worked on?

At SPI Lasers in Southampton – which at the time was a new addition to the TRUMPF Group – I worked on the complete transformation of the production set-up based on lean production principles. Everyone got stuck in, and we took a solution-based approach to anything that did not comply with the new requirements. For example, we took down and moved whole walls in order to optimize production.

Why have you stayed with TRUMPF?

I like the culture of the company. The openness, readiness to help, camaraderie, and the focus on improvement have impressed me. At TRUMPF, there is a feeling of being valued and a strong focus on performance.

What do you like best about your tasks?

I am currently working on the digital future of the company. I really like the pioneering spirit shown by TRUMPF in the context of Industry 4.0, as well as the dynamics and complexity of the transformation. In this regard, interdisciplinary exchange is one experience that I find very enriching – professionally and personally.

Do you have a personal highlight?

At TRUMPF I value not just the focus on performance, but also the joint activities outside of work. I personally have very fond memories of a soccer tournament in Austria and hiking in the hills in Switzerland. Many colleagues have become good friends.
