Why produce with a networked system?

For every hour of processing time, approximately four hours of indirect operation are required. The consequence: as lot sizes decrease, the expenditure for indirect processes takes the upper hand. They make up approximately 80% of all processes. It is precisely here that networked production has a role to play. If you are able to adapt the expenditure for indirect processes to the decreasing lot sizes, even lot size 1 becomes profitable once again.

Fast, direct, flexible – digitalization needs a tool that is just like yourself

In a Smart Factory, for example, workpieces are given a data matrix code, which the system can use to determine the path the part is to take through the system and how it is to be processed. Transport systems and processing stations comply with specifications. For this to work, production needs a highly flexible, easily controllable tool, like the laser. The codes themselves are applied by a marking laser and are clearly readable on any surface by using camera-supported image processing during the marking process. The code contains all necessary information for further processing and traceability.
