TruDisk with green wavelength

Now weld highly reflective materials with even more laser power. TruDisk 3022 will give you up to 3 kW of laser power.

Green laser light for welding copper

Using a green wavelength, copper and other highly reflective materials can be welded not just efficiently, but also with high quality and great productivity, regardless of the material surface quality. Spatter formation is minimized as much as possible. At the same time, you benefit from maximum reproducibility. Whether for point or linear welding, the green laser light turns heat conduction welding and deep penetration welding with a constant welding depth into reliable processes. At TRUMPF you'll also benefit from a complete package based on our proven TruDisk disk laser technology, several laser light cable outputs, processing optics, and an intelligent sensor system.

Highest quality

Green lasers are the foundation of high-quality copper welding with minimal spatter.

For any surface finish

Green laser light always delivers outstanding results, no matter whether you're working with a polished, oxidized, or ground copper surface.

Full flexibility - continuous wave or pulsed

Even with green laser light, you can choose between pulsed and continuous wave lasers, both of which can be tailored to your specific requirements.

Maximum reproducibility

Take advantage of stable heat conduction welding and deep penetration welding with constant welding depth.

Durable and reliable

Durability and robustness are the core features of our TruDisk IR lasers. You can always depend on TruDisk lasers with green wavelengths.

Minimal heat input

Due to the low heat input in the copper, you benefit from minimal distortion of the components and avoid the surrounding plastic components from deforming.

Discover our product portfolio for perfect copper welding with this laser. The TruDisk 1020 is specialized in deep penetration welding and the TruDisk Pulse 221 and 421 in spot welding.
The TruDisk 1020 makes heat conduction welding and deep penetration welding of highly reflective materials possible, with excellent quality and at a high feed rate.
Deep penetration welding of copper is associated in particular with a significant amount of spatter. With the TruDisk Pulse 421, this is not the case, as it delivers clean and high-quality results whatever the surface finish.
Highest absorption in copper
Optimum absorption

The green wavelength is absorbed very well in copper: at room temperature the absorption rate is eight times higher than infrared. As a result, using the TruDisk with green wavelength, it is possible to weld copper in a highly stable and practically spatter-free process. This meets the toughest quality requirements for both the weld seam and the welded component itself.

TruDisk with green wavelength, copper welding
TruDisk 3022

With a laser power of 3 kW, the TruDisk 3022 disk laser is currently the most powerful laser with green wavelength. At the same time, you benefit from a 8 mm*mrad high-quality beam and up to two laser outputs. The continuous wave laser is perfect for stable heat conduction welding and deep penetration welding with constant welding depth. In the process, it works with a high feed rate, no matter the surface finish.

TruDisk Pulse

The pulsed high-power laser, TruDisk Pulse, enables you to efficiently weld highly reflective materials, such as copper. The optimal absorption, as well as the high peak pulse power of 4kW with pulse durations in the milliseconds range, enables unparalleled application results when welding points and short seams.

TRUMPF-TruDisk-3022-3d-printing

3D printing of pure copper, copper alloys and precious metals

The unique combination of green laser light and an additive production system enables robust 3D printing of pure copper as well as the highly productive processing of copper alloys or precious metals. The conductivity of 3D printed copper inductors and the heat conductivity of 3D printed transistor coolers are both identical to the conductivity and heat conductivity of conventional copper. Density and surface roughness of applications impress as well. TRUMPF offers a combination of the two products, TruPrint 1000 and TruDisk 1020, in the TruPrint 1000 Green Edition.

TruDisk with green wavelength, welding different surfaces

Various surfaces

Whatever the surface quality, the TruDisk with green wavelength welds copper seams with consistent quality due to the more stable process at a wavelength of 515 nm, which ensures that your production is highly robust. As a result, most of the time-consuming preparations involved in the standardized preparation of the surface finish, using either sandblasting, tin plating, or similar methods, are no longer necessary.

Laser-welded electrical contacts

With the TruDisk Pulse, you can reliably weld sensitive electronic components by yourself. With the green wavelength, you can reduce spatter by over 95% in comparison to infrared light. This means that you effectively avoid short circuits and the resulting faulty components.

TruControl

TruControl is the control software for your TRUMPF solid-state laser – for quick and simple operation. You can program pulse shapes individually to match the application. The laser power is controlled in real time to ensure maximum reproducibility of your process results. In order to retrace important quality data of your produced parts even years later, the optional DataStore software module records all data relevant to quality.

If external controls are present, TruControl will communicate with them via standard interfaces. Inputs are made via the touchscreen of the operating panel or via a panel PC. You can integrate your laser into the network via Ethernet and connect multiple PCs.

Active laser power control

Instead of manual control, the power of the TruDisk with green wavelength can be controlled in real time. The active laser power control stabilizes the laser power to deviations of +/- 1% and thereby keeps the process constant, regardless of ambient influences. You therefore, benefit from the greatest power stability on the market – throughout the entire service life of your laser.

Interface variety – for simple integration

Interfaces are key for the integration of a TruDisk laser in your machine or production line. The solid-state lasers from TRUMPF offer interfaces to all common fieldbus systems. Also available: real-time interface, parallel digital I/O, interface for process sensor systems, OPC UA software interface, analog input board, interface for intelligent TRUMPF optics.

Remote Services

In the event of an error, TRUMPF service experts will remotely access your laser via a secure remote connection. In many cases the fault can be remedied directly in this way, or the configuration of the laser can be modified in a way that permits you to continue manufacturing until the spare part arrives. This enables maximum availability for you.

Fixed optics that can be combined with the TruDiode
Cooling processing optics/optical laser cables

Processing optics and fiber optic cables can be cooled easily and conveniently using the laser cooling water. Separate cooling is therefore, not necessary.

Intelligent down to the workpiece

Intelligent optics can be synchronized with your laser via a dedicated interface. This will allow you, for example, to use the PFO scanner optics optimally for your purposes. You can easily program the processing optics via the laser control system. You do not need any additional PCs or control systems.

TRUMPF laser network

With the laser network, you can connect one or more lasers with up to two work stations in each case. In the process, your laser either splits its power to multiple stations, or it supplies them by taking turns with full power. This will enable you to combine different applications, such as welding and cutting.

TruDisk with green wavelength, with flexible integrated beam guidance
Flexible integrated beam guidance

There are many different options for the beam guidance that will enable you to create a flexible plan with your laser. The plug & play optical laser cables can be easily connected to different work stations. Here, you choose the number of fiber outlets up to a total of two. The laser power can be flexibly divided across the outlets. This allows multiple work stations to operate simultaneously with split laser power or one after the other at full laser power.

Weld Assist

The WeldAssist database provides you with welding parameters for various materials and focal diameters. This simplifies the set up when laser applications are changed on a regular basis.
