Manpreet Singh, Sales Manager at TRUMPF in Pune (India)
How did your journey start at TRUMPF and which stops have you made along the way? What position do you hold currently?
I started working for TRUMPF in India ten years ago as a Service Engineer. My journey has taken me from my job as Area Sales Manager to Regional Sales Manager. I am now responsible for sales in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
Why did you choose TRUMPF?
I was already familiar with TRUMPF before there was a subsidiary in India. I wanted to work for a company that was currently expanding. When TRUMPF opened the site in India in 2006, it was clear to me that I wanted to be involved.
What do you like best about your tasks?
With its company culture and products, TRUMPF is always at the cutting edge. The focus on constant further development also inspires me to improve a little bit each day in sales. Specifically, this means always listening to the customer and knowing exactly what issues they are facing.
What is the most exciting project/topic that you have worked on?
There isn't one particular project. I would say much more that I always find it exciting to play a part in seeing TRUMPF machines used by an extremely wide range of customers and for their applications. There is a little part of TRUMPF in many everyday things such as baking sheets, lifts and air coolers.
Do you have a personal highlight?
I remember an initially skeptical new customer who we were able to win over with a great deal of expertise and, not least, our innovative machines. At the end, the customer was so impressed that his brother also became one of our customers shortly after.
What do you value in particular in TRUMPF as an employer?
I am convinced by TRUMPF as a company and its products and services. That makes it possible for me to always be totally committed to what we offer and the promises we make when I am in sales situations with a customer.
