As a high-tech company, TRUMPF thrives on fresh ideas and impetus. A high-quality education is thus the basis for innovative thinking, as it acts as a catalyst for social and economic progress. We want to arouse people's interest in technical topics and economic expertise to ensure Germany is well-positioned and competitive in the future.

Supporting up-and-coming talent

TRUMPF instigates and supports education projects in different types of schools and for various age groups. Students at elementary schools develop their own product and so learn about running a company. High-school students improve their social skills with long-term internships in the company and so boost their career prospects. Students at college-preparatory schools are given an insight into technical processes. We carry out these projects at many TRUMPF locations around the world and in the ideal scenario we are able to get other companies involved.

"Wissensfabrik" initiative

TRUMPF is a founding member of the initiative "Wissensfabrik – Unternehmen für Deutschland e.V." (Knowledge Factory – Companies for Germany). Through this social commitment, TRUMPF aims to arouse people's interest in engineering and entrepreneurship and pass on the experience gained by an innovative family company.

"Jugend forscht" youth research competition

TRUMPF supports young people in research and inventive making. For example, teams of school students taking part in the "Jugend forscht" youth research competition can spend time in the training department and move their project forward with us.

Children's day

TRUMPF takes part in the children's day run by Upper Austrian industry, in order to arouse children's interest in engineering at an early stage. Using role plays, the young visitors are given an insight into day-to-day work at TRUMPF and can find out more about individual steps, from placing an order to delivering the finished machine.

Research and teaching

Graduates at TRUMPF working together

We provide topic-specific support for professorships and technical courses of study, with financial assistance and personal involvement in teaching. We relate the technologies of the future to practice in lectures at higher education institutes, and offer doctorates in industry and trainee programs to qualified academics. We also support junior researcher projects at institutions and associations, such as the Chair of Intergenerational Economic Policy at WHU (Otto Beisheim School of Management). TRUMPF also collaborates with institutes and industry partners in national and European support programs to work on the issues of the future, such as electromobility, photovoltaics, and Industry 4.0.
