Aluminum AlSi9Cu3-A LMF

Aluminum AlSi9Cu3-A LMF is an inert-gas-atomized powder which has been designed and tested for use on TruPrint systems. The composition of parts created using this powder corresponds to heat-resistant aluminum alloy 3.2163 (AlSiCu3) in accordance with the DIN EN 1706 standard. The precipitation hardening of the alloy ensures both a good level of strength and hardness at room temperature, as well as improved heat resistance.

Aluminum AlSi10Mg-A LMF

Aluminum AlSi10Mg-A LMF is an inert-gas-atomized powder which has been designed and tested for use on TruPrint systems. The composition of parts created using this powder corresponds to the corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy 3.2381 (AlSi10Mg), in accordance with the DIN EN 1706 standard. The alloy impresses due to its very good specific strength, good thermal properties, and a high level of thermal shock resistance.

The composition of parts created using this powder corresponds to the corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy 3.2582 (AlSi12Mg), in accordance with the DIN EN 1706 standard. The eutectic alloy has very good specific strength, good thermal properties, and a high level of hot cracking resistance.

Stainless steels

Stainless steel 316L-A LMF

Stainless steel 316L-A LMF is an inert-gas-atomized powder which has been designed and tested for use on TruPrint systems. The composition of parts created using this powder corresponds to the corrosion-resistant CrNi steel 1.4404 (X2CrNiMo17-12-2) in accordance with the DIN EN 10088-1 standard. The high proportions of the elements chromium and nickel provide very good corrosion resistance by forming a passivation layer on the surface.

Stainless steel 630-A LMF

Cobalt-chromium alloys

BEGO Mediloy S-Co

Mediloy S-Co is a powder which is made from a CoCr-based alloy, which has been specially developed for dental technology applications. Mediloy S-Co is a Class IIa medical product in accordance with the European Medical Device Directive 93/42/EEC. TRUMPF offers this product in collaboration with the company BEGO. Mediloy S-Co has been tested and certified specifically for LMF applications with TRUMPF parameters on TruPrint systems. The alloy also corresponds to the ISO 22674:2006 (Type 4) and EN ISO 9693-1 standards.

Cobalt-chromium CoCr-B LMF

CoCr-B LMF is an inert-gas-atomized powder which has been designed and tested for use on TruPrint systems. Parts created using this powder correspond to the alloy 2.4778 (CoCr28Mo6) in accordance with the ASTM-F75-12 standard. The alloy stands out due to its excellent biocompatibility as well as its high resistance to wear.

The super alloy 625-A LMF is an inert-gas-atomized powder which has been designed and tested for use on TruPrint systems. The composition of parts created using this powder corresponds to the nickel-based alloy 2.4856 (NiCr22Mo9Nb) in accordance with the DIN 17744/ASTM B446 standard. The alloy stands out due to its high-temperature characteristics and its excellent level of corrosion resistance.

The super alloy 718-A LMF is an inert-gas-atomized powder which has been designed and tested for use on TruPrint systems. The composition of parts created using this powder corresponds to the precipitation-hardenable nickel-based alloy 2.4668 (NiCr19NbMo) in accordance with the standards  DIN 17744/ASTM B637. The alloy stands out due to its very good resistance to high temperatures which can be produced using subsequent heat treatment.

The composition of parts created using this powder corresponds to the unalloyed titanium alloy 3.7035 (Ti 2 (Grade 2)) in accordance with the ASTM F76 standard. The alloy has a very high specific strength and excellent biocompatibility.

Titanium Ti64 ELI-A LMF

Titanium Ti64 ELI-A LMF is an inert-gas-atomized titanium powder which has been designed and tested for use on TruPrint systems. The composition of parts created using this powder corresponds to 3.7165 (Ti6Al4V ELI (Grade 23)) in accordance with the ASTM F136 standard. The suffix "ELI" stands for "extra-low interstitials", which refers to the impurities of oxygen, carbon, nitrogen, and iron. The low element content improves the ductility and fracture toughness. For commercial use as a medical product, local legal regulations must be complied with.

Tool steels

Tool steel 1.2709-A LMF

Tool steel 1.2709-A LMF is an inert-gas-atomized powder which has been designed and tested for use on TruPrint systems. The composition of parts created using this powder corresponds to the maraging tool steel 1.2709 (X3NiCoMoTi 18-9-5) in accordance with the US standard AISI 18Ni (300) Maraging steel. This raw material stands out due to a good combination of high strength and particular toughness. Components made from this steel are easy to machine and a very good component surface quality can be created by polishing. The alloy also stands out due to its good thermal conductivity, low thermal expansion, and good weldability.
