Decades of experience

You can rely on our experienced engineers!

You have the idea – we develop the solution

One of the first questions to be asked is often whether and, if so, how, induction technology can be used to simplify and optimize potential production steps. That is why we offer you a tailored solution comprised of several steps. This maximizes transparency and certainty from the outset and enables you to first check the feasibility of the solution without needing to purchase a system directly. In this way, the requirements and process parameters are defined as the first step. We then take these as the basis for determining and preparing suitable analytical methods and performing a wide range of tests. The approach we take is as unique as your process.

High performance – right down to the last detail

Whether it's powerful all-around machines or short-circuit proof high-performance generators for the most demanding induction applications, we can provide everything that the industry needs. But that isn't enough. Here at TRUMPF, we go one step further and offer all components required for a well-functioning system environment. Regardless of whether you need an inductor, a coaxial transformer, process coolers, or pyrometers with a controller – we think about each and every detail and guarantee that you receive a comprehensive and complete solution, developed by our technology experts and tried and tested in practice.

Pioneering engineering included as standard

Our company history is characterized by a range of technical developments and patents which provide well thought-out solutions to real-life challenges and are always developed in close collaboration with our customers. The key element for us is always your specific application or production issue. With our decades of expertise and our innovative strength, we can make a real difference each and every day when it comes to bringing efficient, sustainable innovations to market. Development of induction processes

Step 1: Analysis

  • Material properties and process environment analyzed 
  • Process parameters analyzed, such as start and end temperature, surface quality, geometry, heating and cycle time, thermal isolation, etc.
Step 2: Prepare the possible solutions

Laboratory testing:

  • Boundary conditions defined and incorporated
  • Application tests prepared and set up
  • Power supply adjusted
  • Temperature measurement systems and control systems adjusted
  • Test inductor produced

Numerical simulation with COMSOL:

  • 2D or 3D model created taking into account the component geometry and surrounding geometry
Step 3: Test phase and optimization

Laboratory testing:

  • Test inductor adjusted and optimized
  • Electrical and thermal parameters defined
  • Inductor geometry defined

Numerical simulation with COMSOL:

  • Calculations performed
  • Model adjusted and optimized
  • Field patterns created (temperature, magnetic field, etc.)
  • Electrical and thermal parameters defined
  • Inductor geometry defined
Step 4: Implementation

  • Results documented
  • Individually developed application implemented in your production sequence
  • If desired: commissioning on site
