Lot size of 1 | TRUMPF
Keyvisual lot size 1

Orders are becoming smaller and smaller – down to lot sizes of 1

No two production processes are the same, but one thing they all have in common is that lot sizes are decreasing. At the same time, delivery times are becoming shorter and shorter. We therefore have experts who go on-site to analyze processes and optimize them so that even lot sizes of 1 will be worthwhile.

You can save a lot – exploit your potential!

Planning & management

With intelligent production control, you can plan more efficiently, as well as process orders more quickly and using more automated processes.

Intralogistics & setup

Set up your machines using automated processes and manage both your store and your tools digitally.

Operator self-organization

Benefit from real-time electronic analyses and always keep an eye on all information relevant to production.

It's all about the big picture

We know from experience: sheet metal processors often lack the transparency over order status, capacities or utilization. At the same time, the effort required for agreeing on and coordinating processes by hand is often high and error-prone. The indirect processes also have to be optimized in order to work more economically and to reduce the throughput times. From quote to shipment of the parts, we create a flexible and integrated overall system along with you.

Every order is profitable – whether big or small

Warum vernetzt fertigen?

For every hour of processing time, approximately four hours of indirect operation are required. The consequence: as lot sizes decrease, the expenditure for indirect processes takes the upper hand. They make up approximately 80% of all processes. It is precisely here that networked production has a role to play. If you are able to adapt the expenditure for indirect processes to the decreasing lot sizes, even lot size 1 becomes profitable once again.

Why are lasers the perfect 4.0 tool?

Laser in the cutting process

Fast, direct, flexible – digitalization needs a tool that is just like yourself

In a Smart Factory, for example, workpieces are given a data matrix code, which the system can use to determine the path the part is to take through the system and how it is to be processed. Transport systems and processing stations comply with specifications. For this to work, production needs a highly flexible, easily controllable tool, like the laser. The codes themselves are applied by a marking laser and are clearly readable on any surface by using camera-supported image processing during the marking process. The code contains all necessary information for further processing and traceability.
