TruMicro Mark 2000

Simply flexible

All-around solution for marking with ultrashort pulses.

Are you looking for a marking unit for laser markings with ultrashort pulses? Then the TruMicro Mark 2000 is the ideal choice. The first all-around, turnkey solution for ultrashort pulse laser in a marking station includes a scanner, laser cooler and software, in addition to the laser. With peak pulse powers of 0.5 MW, it is productive even with moderate average powers in cold material processing. The system offers the benefits of maximum process stability and monitored pulse energy for each individual pulse. The multi-pulse technology enables the individual adaptation of pulse number and distance in freely configurable pulse trains. This means that you can also use the TruMicro Mark 2000 for other applications in cold processing.

Precision work

High beam quality for absolute precision

100% tailored pulses

The ultrafast power modulator keeps power and pulse energy at an exact level.

Dazzling performance

With ultrashort pulses, you can mark even highly reflective surfaces.

Specialist for medical technology

With the TruMicro Mark 2000, you can mark implants and surgical instruments in a corrosion-resistant way.

Black marking

Create deep black, corrosion-resistant markings with extreme peak pulse power.

Protects the surface

Mark chromed plastics without modifying the polymer layer.

Full power

100% of the average power even in individual pulses, as a result of monitored fiber technology

Cold processing with the TruMicro Mark Series 2000
Zero or targeted heat input

With laser pulses of a few pico- and femtoseconds, materials can be efficiently processed, practically without thermal or mechanical influences. To do this, the laser pulse – and therefore the duration of the energy input – must be short enough in order to avoid temperature compensation between electrons and their associated atoms. The material evaporates abruptly. The heat does not get into the surrounding material, and thermal stress fractures are avoided. This is referred to as "cold processing". For metals and many other materials, the ideal pulse duration for this is between 1 and 10 picoseconds.

Black marking

A change in color, up to and including deep black, can be brought about in metals through laser processing, which is known as black marking. Ultrashort laser pulses create virtually no heat in the material during processing. The amount of free chromium in the stainless steel thereby remains high enough for a self-healing layer of chromium oxide to form on the surface – the marking on stainless steel thereby becomes corrosion-resistant. Black marking is, therefore, especially well-suited for creating the mandatory markings in medical technology.

Laser marking in medical technology

Traceability is extremely important in the manufacture of products in medical technology, which is why machine-readable markings are very important. With the TruMicro Mark 2000, the type and form of the marking is not subject to any limits in: UDI-compliant product markings in clear text and barcode or data matrix code for product traceability, micro-marking in the range of hundredths of millimeters or graphics of the highest quality.

The TruTops Mark marking software makes marking with the TruMicro Mark as easy as possible. The TruTops Mark program combines the marking software, CAD editor, management of laser parameters and interfaces, sequence programming with QuickFlow, and a diagnostics tool. An intuitive interface puts all the functions at your fingertips. You can easily draw and arrange graphic objects with the CAD editor. The database for laser parameters enables you to re-use optimized parameters many times over. You can use the QuickFlow sequence programming to create "drag and drop" programs that control the complete marking cycle from beginning to end. The diagnostics tool visualizes and analyzes the analog measured values recorded by its sensors.

Additional options enable your TruMicro Mark to work more efficiently and with more process reliability.

Variety of interfaces – for simple integration

Interfaces are key for the integration of a TruMicro laser into your machine or production line. The solid-state lasers from TRUMPF offer interfaces to all common fieldbus systems. Also available: real-time interface, parallel digital I/O, interface for process sensor systems, OPC UA software interface, analog input board, interface for intelligent TRUMPF optics (CFO, PFO).

Remote Services

In the event of an error, TRUMPF service experts will remotely access your laser via a secure remote connection. In many cases the fault can be remedied directly in this way, or the configuration of the laser can be modified in a way that permits you to continue manufacturing until the spare part arrives.
