EuroBLECH 2022: TRUMPF makes production fit for the future

O n October 25, the EuroBLECH trade fair opens its doors in Hanover. At the TRUMPF booth, the focus will be on digital networking and, above all, technologies for greater sustainability, productivity and simplicity. Stephan Mayer, Member of the Managing Board for Machine Tools at TRUMPF, reveals in the video what visitors can particularly look forward to. The cover photo shows the TRUMPF booth at EuroBLECH in 2018, the last time the trade fair was held before the lockdown.

The shortage of skilled workers is currently one of the biggest challenges in sheet metal production. That's why TRUMPF is showing a range of new machines and technologies at EuroBLECH that make sheet metal production easier. These include the TruBend 1000 for entry-level bending technology. The machine is robust, durable and easy to operate and program. "With this, we are primarily supporting companies with smaller budgets," says CEO Machine Tools Stephan Mayer. Likewise, the new technology for robotic welding BrightLine-Scan helps counteract the shortage of skilled workers. In this process, the robot and the laser scanner move the laser beam simultaneously. This increases tolerance during laser welding.

In light of rising energy prices, the climate crisis and shortages of raw materials, the topic of sustainability is becoming increasingly important in sheet metal production. At EuroBLECH, TRUMPF will be showing, among other things, a new solution that companies can use to improve energy consumption and pollutant emissions during laser cutting. The "Eco Cooler" cools the laser cutting machine with pure water instead of refrigerant. This reduces energy consumption by 80 percent compared to conventional coolers. In addition, no pollutants are produced.

Furthermore, visitors to the TRUMPF booth can expect new solutions to increase manufacturing productivity. For example, the company has doubled the laser power of the TruLaser Series 5000 from 12 to 24 kW. With the powerful laser, the machine cuts sheets much faster. It also increases the possible sheet thickness.
