EuroBLECH 2026: TRUMPF enhances transparency and efficiency in laser cutting

TRUMPF launches a new generation of its most productive laser cutting machine series, the TruLaser 5000 // Cameras and real-time data enhance manufacturing transparency // Users identify optimization potential more quickly and reduce downtime

Ditzingen, October 9, 2026 – At EuroBLECH, TRUMPF is launching the new generation of its most productive laser cutting machine series, the TruLaser 5000. The machine makes sheet metal processing operations more transparent than ever before. Integrated cameras, sensors, and continuous status monitoring provide users with a comprehensive overview of the machining process at all times. This allows companies to see at a glance when and where productive time is being lost and to take targeted measures to increase their efficiency. “Many sheet metal fabricators have already brought their laser cutting processes to a very high level of productivity. The next step is to create greater transparency in production and specifically reduce efficiency losses. The new TruLaser 5000 provides the necessary information users need to identify deviations early, take targeted corrective action, and continuously increase their productivity,” says TRUMPF Product Manager Milena Baur.

Transparency creates room for improvement

To increase transparency, TRUMPF has integrated several cameras into the laser cutting machine, whose live streams can be accessed from anywhere. The camera views cover the entire interior of the machine and provide insights into the cutting process and the pallet changer, among other things. Combined with live data from other systems, this creates a central production dashboard right on the control panel. Operators and production managers can see machine status, remaining runtimes, and current events at a glance. Camera images and real-time notifications immediately highlight where assistance is needed. This allows employees to intervene more quickly, avoid unplanned downtime, and monitor multiple machines simultaneously.

The dashboard now also features a collision overview. It shows which programs have resulted in downtime due to collisions between the nozzle and the sheet metal. This allows users to identify recurring errors more quickly and take measures to prevent them. The TruLaser 5000 series also includes three years of “Condition Monitoring” as standard. This predictive service monitors machine conditions, detects potential failures early on, and helps prevent unplanned downtime. This increases the system’s uptime.

Proven assistance systems for greater process reliability

For maximum process reliability, TRUMPF relies on proven assistance systems for laser cutting in the new TruLaser 5000. “Active Speed Control” monitors the cutting process in real time, detects quality deviations even during machining, and automatically adjusts the feed rate. A new feature introduced at EuroBlech is that the system monitors the condition of the nozzle during cutting and initiates a check cycle if contamination is detected. This allows the machine to take corrective action early on, before scrap is produced. With the Smart Rerun function, the machine automatically detects interrupted cuts and resumes the cutting process at the correct point. In combination with Active Speed Control, the TruLaser 5000 can continue production even in the event of faulty cuts, without operator intervention. This reduces downtime and increases productivity.

High-performance machine for demanding applications

The TruLaser 5000 series is ideal for any company that wants to cut components with maximum productivity and automation while maximizing machine utilization. With up to 24 kW of laser power, it is suitable for all common materials used in sheet metal fabrication. Depending on the format, it processes sheets ranging in size from 3 x 1.5 meters to 6 x 2 meters. Users can economically manufacture both delicate precision parts and large-format components. Typical applications include mechanical engineering, agricultural machinery, commercial vehicle manufacturing, and contract manufacturing.
