Our high-end disk lasers

– proven for welding, uniquely flexible, modularly expandable.

The TruDisk is a high-power solid-state laser for low-spatter welding and surface processing of metals. It offers the perfect combination of high laser power and excellent beam quality. Thanks to its high durability and reliable technology, the TruDisk is also suitable for demanding industrial production processes. Integrated cooling solutions, up to four outputs for parallel operation, and pluggable laser light cables ensure maximum flexibility. Using intelligent sensor technology, the laser continuously monitors all relevant operating parameters. This allows you to achieve maximum process reliability and easily integrate the laser into digital production and service solutions, such as those used in Condition Monitoring.

The integrated, active laser power control of the TruDisk ensures reproducible results. With a brilliant beam quality of up to 2 mm▪mrad, the TruDisk operates with extreme precision. With a power spectrum from 1 to 16 kW, you have complete flexibility and can achieve optimum results.

Robust against reflection
Robust against reflection

Thanks to its patented resonator design, your TruDisk can even process highly reflective materials without compromise. At the same time, it operates reliably without any consumables and performs well even under extreme environmental conditions.

Intelligent energy management
Intelligent energy management

Multiple energy-saving modes and the power factor correction reduce the power requirement.

Flexible cooling concept
Flexible cooling concept

The TruDisk offers two smart cooling options - choose between the standard model with an integrated heat exchanger (up to 28 degrees supply temperature) and the optional integrated compressor cooler (up to 38 degrees supply temperature). Select the appropriate variant based on the temperature of your domestic hot water - no external chiller is required.

Low-spatter welding
Low-spatter welding

With BrightLine Weld you can achieve high-quality welding seams with minimal spatter formation. Thanks to the higher feed rate, you can significantly increase your productivity. At the same time, the amount of post-processing work decreases, which significantly reduces your operating costs.

Further advantages

  • Integrated beam guidance for maximum laser utilization

Perfectly tailored to your system design, the new generation of TruDisk lasers can be equipped with up to 4 laser outputs. Beam guidance is integrated into the laser housing. Using multiple laser outputs allows you to increase laser utilization, reduce part costs, and improve system availability.
  • Maximum performance stability for reproducible results

Instead of manual control, the power can be adjusted in real time. This allows you to benefit from the highest performance stability on the market - throughout the entire service life of your TruDisk. This results in completely reproducible results around the clock.

TruDisk – the sharpest tool in the box

The TruDisk in use

– What you can expect

The TruDisk high-power laser handles a wide range of welding applications - from deep welding to dynamic remote welding, and additive laser cladding. With precisely adjustable and monitored laser power, high process stability, and reliable reproducibility, it meets even complex requirements in the automotive industry, series production, and component repair. Whether accuracy, speed, or flexibility is required - the TruDisk consistently delivers high-quality results.

Deep welding

Deep welding

The TruDisk high-power laser is well-suited for numerous applications in the automotive industry, for example in the power train – here a control gear. The requirements regarding accuracy and reproducibility are particularly high here.

Thanks to its precisely adjustable and monitored laser power, the TruDisk disk laser handles this with ease.

Remote welding of a car door

Remote welding of a car door

Remote welding requires the highest levels of dynamics, precision, and productivity. Short cycle times and maximum equipment availability require a welding process that operates reliably and is reproducible, even with complex component geometries.

When used in combination with the PFO 3D, the TruDisk enables highly dynamic remote welding with minimal non-productive times. The result is precise weld seams, high process stability, and maximum productivity in series production.

Laser metal deposition as an additional manufacturing method

Laser metal deposition as an additional manufacturing method

Wear, repair, and the cost-effective production of complex components place high demands on production processes. There is a need for flexible processes that allow material to be applied precisely and components to be built up or repaired efficiently.

With the TruDisk, laser metal deposition (LMD) can be implemented with precision and cost-effectively. This process enables the targeted application of material for the construction, repair, or coating of components. Thanks to high build rates and stable processes, you can increase productivity and reduce material usage and post-processing.

– Discover available components and services for this laser

A laser alone is not a solution. Only in combination with precise optics, intelligent sensor technology and tailor-made services can a system be created that makes your applications possible and ensures reliable processes. With TRUMPF, you have a partner who not only supplies technology, but also reliable process results - solutions that measurably advance your production and pay off through sustainable success.

Optics

Guide and focus the laser beam

Overview

Optics focus the laser beam precisely onto the workpiece - exactly at the point where the processing takes place. TRUMPF offers two variants for this:

Classic processing optics (BEO) focus a laser beam on a fixed processing point. To cover the processing surface, either the optics or the workpiece must be moved.

Programmable focusing optics (PFO) use mirrors to flexibly direct the laser beam to any position in the processing field - without any mechanical movement of the workpiece or optics.

All optics can be combined via an interface with various sensors for process monitoring - from TRUMPF or third-party suppliers.

Sensor systems

Monitor, control, document in real time

Overview

Whether it is welding, marking, or surface processing - our sensor systems measure, control, and document the factors that determine the quality of your laser processes: They detect the position of each component, control the laser power, focus, and temperature, and inspect the seam or marking. Fully documented and traceable. And because they use the same control as our lasers, they are ready for use without any integration effort. Find out here which system is right for your application.

VisionLine

During welding, VisionLine ensures that the weld is precise and meets your specifications: It assists with setup, detects the position of each component, and inspects the weld seam down to the welding depth - even in places the human eye cannot reach. This is how you achieve consistent results, seam by seam.

Temperature control

The temperature control ensures the correct heat input: It measures the temperature in the process zone using a pyrometer and provides the values that the control uses to adjust the energy flow. For applications where every degree counts - from plastic welding to laser cladding and surface hardening.

White paper

Laser welding aluminum alloys with a TruDisk laser and the BrightLine Weld option 574 KB Laser welding aluminum alloys with a TruDisk laser and the BrightLine Weld option
When welding materials such as aluminum 6000 alloy, users are faced with the challenge of hot cracks. These have a negative effect on weld seam quality and can lead to weld seam failure. Spattering may also occur, thereby contaminating surrounding parts. The white paper shows a welding application test in which the TruDisk 6001 processes 1 mm to 2 mm thick parts in weld seam positions that are susceptible to hot cracking. The application shows how the BrightLine Weld option improves welding results. Just fill out the form below to receive exciting background information and more details in our white paper.
