Rugged, high-power CO2 laser

– for a wide range of applications

Whether for welding, cutting, or surface processing, TruFlow lasers are highly versatile – even in applications where other laser technology reaches its limits. Its wavelength of 10.6 µm allows for a wide range of materials: from metals to plastics and glass to organic materials. Even corroded surfaces can be processed reliably. The power range of 2 to 20 kW also opens up a wide variety of applications – from laser epitaxy for semiconductors and material removal to the welding of large-format components. A robust resonator and a blower with magnetic bearings ensure stable processes, minimal maintenance and a long service life, even under harsh industrial conditions.

What makes the TruFlow so special

Processing a wide variety of materials – with a wavelength of 10.6 µm

The 10.6-µm wavelength of our TruFlow lasers enables processes that cannot be achieved with conventional solid-state lasers, or can only be achieved with extreme effort and at high cost. This allows them to process a wide variety of materials, such as wood, glass, metals, plastics, and composites. Applications in semiconductor manufacturing are also possible – including laser annealing, a process in which the material is heated to several hundred degrees Celsius within milliseconds.

More applications – with power up to 20 kW
More applications – with power up to 20 kW

With laser power ranging from 2 to 20 kW, the TruFlow offers plenty of flexibility for a variety of material thicknesses and applications. It really stands out at high power levels: Starting at 12 kW, the TruFlow is one of the few CO2 lasers available on the market.

Reliable processes – even under harsh conditions
Reliable processes – even under harsh conditions

The TruFlow operates reliably even under harsh industrial conditions – such as in steel construction or shipbuilding. Its mechanically robust and temperature-stable resonator is designed for accelerations of up to 5 m/s². This ensures that the beam quality remains consistent even in the face of vibrations and temperature fluctuations – and, as a result, the quality of your processes remains consistent as well.

Less maintenance – thanks to a wear-free blower
Less maintenance – thanks to a wear-free blower

The TruFlow's blower is mounted on magnetic bearings and driven by a magnetic motor. As a result, it operates completely wear-free – unlike mechanical drives. This reduces maintenance requirements and increases operational reliability. Magnetic technology also prevents damage during power outages or emergency shutdowns and eliminates contamination from lubricants.

Lower safety requirements and easy integration – thanks to effective absorption
Lower safety requirements and easy integration – thanks to effective absorption

Many materials absorb the TruFlow's wavelength particularly well. As a result, there are fewer dangerous reflections than with solid-state lasers, and the cost of necessary protective measures is reduced. This makes it easier to integrate the TruFlow into existing production environments.

TruFlow in use

– What to expect

Whether fine structures in semiconductor manufacturing, fiber-reinforced composites, or large-format thick sheets: The TruFlow handles a wide variety of applications and challenging materials. You can use it to create epitaxial layers, precisely remove, cut, or weld material – reliably even under harsh industrial conditions.

Laser epitaxy for semiconductors

Laser epitaxy for semiconductors

In laser epitaxy for semiconductor manufacturing, you heat and vaporise substrates such as oxides, sapphire, silicon, silicon carbide, or aluminium nitride to create high-quality crystal layers. This requires temperatures of more than 2,000 degrees Celsius and precisely defined wavelengths – requirements that cannot be met using conventional methods.

The TruFlow's 10.6 µm wavelength is absorbed extremely well by many of these substrates, heating them to more than 2,000 degrees Celsius. Here's how to produce high-quality, ultra-thin crystal layers with high uniformity.

Cutting and machining organic and composite materials

Cutting and machining organic and composite materials

It is difficult, if not impossible, to cut and ablate carbon or glass fibre composites precisely using conventional laser wavelengths. Alternative methods, such as waterjet cutting, are possible, but they are often time-consuming and expensive.

Many composite materials and organic materials absorb the TruFlow's 10.6 µm wavelength particularly well. This allows you to cut these materials with precision, selectively remove structures, or strip away layers of paint – without having to resort to time-consuming alternative methods.

Cutting and welding of large-format thick sheets

Cutting and welding of large-format thick sheets

Large-format thick sheets and metal coils used in heavy industry are often contaminated with oil, dirt, particles, or oxide layers. When cutting and welding with other lasers, this can result in rough cut edges, pores, or defects. The optics in the machining head may also wear out more quickly.

With its 10.6-µm wavelength, the TruFlow reliably treats even dirty, rusty, or oily surfaces. This enables you to achieve consistent weld seams and clean cuts – even under challenging surface conditions.
