TRUMPF presents its most productive and flexible laser tube cutting machine to the North American market
Farmington, Conn, April 8, 2026 – The high-tech company TRUMPF is introducing a new, even more productive TruLaser Tube 7000 laser tube cutting machine for the North American market. With nine kilowatts of laser power, the machine processes greater wall thicknesses with remarkable speed using nitrogen as its cutting gas. In 0.375-inch-thick mild steel, for example, productivity increases by up to 30 percent, and feed rates increase by up to 150 percent. This enables companies to increase throughput and reduce costs per part. The solution also gives users significantly more flexibility in laser tube processing, enabling them to cut greater wall thicknesses.
More flexibility thanks to the extended outer circle
“Flexibility and productivity are paramount for today's laser tube processing,” says TRUMPF Inc. TruLaser Tube Product Manager Adi Buerkler. “Manufacturers expect maximum speed and accuracy for components with small diameters, but they want to use the same machine to process very large diameters, and tubes with large wall thicknesses as well. The TruLaser Tube 7000 combines these requirements and has an increased maximum tube size and possible wall thickness compared to previous models.”
Thanks to the significantly increased outer circle of 11.4 inches, square tubes measuring 8 by 8 inches, round tubes with a diameter of 10.75 inches, and 10-by- 6-inch rectangular tubes with a side length of up 10 inches, can all be processed on the TruLaser Tube 7000. The machine also cuts small tubes with diameters of 0.50 inches extremely quickly and precisely.
Optimal part quality thanks to intelligent assistance systems
New features help ensure part quality. To evaluate the raw material, TRUMPF has expanded its proven "ScanLine" function to include the "Quality Pilot." If the material is out of shape or of poor quality, ScanLine, which uses light section sensors to measure tolerances, can compensate for deviations. With the new additional "Quality Pilot" function, the machine independently decides whether ScanLine measurements are necessary and how often they should be performed, depending on the raw material quality of each individual tube. This function allows users to avoid unnecessary measurement cycles and save time.
The new "ObserveLine Comfort" function also enables users to achieve maximum part quality. After processing, the machine's cutting head moves over the cut contour and uses a low-wattage laser pulse to check whether the scrap has fallen completely out of the tube. Users benefit not only from greater process reliability, but also from reduced manual reworking. With the new "ObserveLine Edge" technology, pre-punched tubes and profiles can also be easily further processed with greater reliability. The machine independently uses the laser beam to identify existing contours in the tube and automatically adapts the part’s program accordingly. This gives companies additional freedom, especially in processing purchased semi-finished products.
Digital services reduce unplanned downtime
With the new generation of the TruLaser Tube 7000, users have full access to TRUMPF's digital service ecosystem. For example, the digital "Condition Monitoring" service analyzes machine data in real time and provides an early warning if components are wearing out or if values deviate from their target range. This service helps prevent failures before they lead to production stoppages. The LoadMaster Tube loading device, which is included as a standard feature, ensures low-labor operation. The tilt-and-lift station enables a fully automatic connection between the machine and a tube storage system and supplements automatic unloading solutions. Using the appropriate software solutions and interfaces, companies can seamlessly integrate a TruLaser Tube 7000 into a smart factory.
Ideal for varying quantities and requirements of North American customers
TRUMPF is launching the TruLaser Tube 7000 with various loading and unloading lengths, with a maximum of 41 feet. The machine is designed for companies that want to remain flexible, produce both small and large quantities profitably, and respond to changing requirements at the same time. The target industries include machine building and systems engineering, facade and building construction, vehicle production, and the agricultural and construction machinery industries.
TRUMPF’s ongoing, strategic “local for local” manufacturing plan in the United States includes production of the company's tube laser cutting machines, specifically the new TruLaser Tube 7000. As part of its commitment to serving North American customers, TRUMPF will produce the new top-of-the-line tube laser cutting machine at its U.S. subsidiary in Connecticut.
