The specialist

– in your production

The TruFiber P series was developed for a broad range of manufacturing requirements, so offers a variety of configuration options. It can be used as a singlemode laser with up to 2 kW for high-precision applications or as a multimode version with up to 6 kW for applications with higher welding depths or welding speeds – all in a compact housing. Each variant can be combined with TRUMPF's complete laser system technology, supplemented with a comprehensive range of services. The result is a customisable complete package that combines flexibility and value, perfectly aligned with your production requirements.

What sets the TruFiber P apart

– Special features at a glance
Customised to your specific application

The TruFiber P is tailored to specific applications. The choice of singlemode or multimode variants, suitable fibre diameters and lengths, and appropriate optics and sensor systems provides the prefect solution for a wide variety of processing tasks.

Low-spatter welding with maximum precision

BrightLine Mode technology enables singlemode and multimode beams to be combined in the patented TRUMPF 2-in-1 laser light cable. This makes it possible to realise extremely high-quality weld seams on copper, aluminium, mild steel and stainless steel with minimal spatter.

Integrated control for lasers, optics and sensors

TruControl is the fastest and smartest laser control on the market. It enables you to control your laser directly and without external modules. The system assumes real-time laser power control, and also allows you to program optics and sensor systems.

Perfect for laser precision welding and cutting

With a fibre diameter of just 25 micrometers, the singlemode version delivers the beam quality required for high-precision applications. Perfectly suited to ultra-precise weld seams and cuts that demand the highest quality standards.

Further advantages

  • Global consulting and rapid support

Why have five contacts when one will suffice? We supply a complete system from a single source – and also provide 24/7 support, wherever you are in the world. Our experts provide a wealth of advice on application, materials, process parameters, and the optimal combination of laser, optics and sensor systems.
  • Safe and reliable with PLe

The TruFiber S meets the highest safety level, Performance Level e (PL e). Redundant safety systems and rapid error detection increase production reliability – without the need for additional measures on the laser itself.

The TruFiber P in use

– What to expect

Whether for high-precision work with singlemode or robust multimode applications with high energy input, the TruFiber P series is designed as a modular system, capable of covering a wide range of applications – from medical technology to electromobility. The laser is compatible with TRUMPF's range of optics and sensors, so it can be readily adapted to a wide variety of materials and processes.

Gearbox welding for lightweight components

Gearbox welding for lightweight components

Modern gearboxes need to be more compact and lightweight, without sacrificing performance. The components are often made of different metals, which places significant demands on the welding process.

With outputs of up to 6 kW and excellent beam quality from fibres with a small core diameter, we recommend TruFiber P lasers for precise deep-hole welding. They enable high-tensile welded joints, even when joining dissimilar materials.

Busbar welding of cylindrical battery cells

Busbar welding of cylindrical battery cells

When busbar welding, battery terminal contacts must be reliably connected – low-spatter, conductive, and with minimal heat input. Especially with cylindrical cells, even the smallest contact surfaces must be welded with precision and repeatability to ensure a stable, long-lasting connection.

TruFiber P singlemode lasers offer the highest beam quality for the smallest weld spots and enable the finest, repeatable weld seams even on the smallest parts. BrightLine Mode reduces spatter even at high welding speeds.

Laser precision welding in medical technology

Laser precision welding in medical technology

When manufacturing endoscopic instruments, maximum precision and repeatable weld seams are essential. The surfaces must be flawless and require no post-processing, while even the smallest components must be reliably connected.

The outstanding singlemode beam quality of TruFiber P lasers enables the smallest weld spot diameters for precise, fine weld seams even on miniaturised parts, while BrightLine Mode minimises spatter. With active power regulation and precise process monitoring, we ensure consistently high quality in your medical technology applications.

Laser Metal Fusion for 3D printing

Laser Metal Fusion for 3D printing

Metallic 3D printing requires precise energy input to selectively melt metal powder layer-by-layer. Complex geometries and high material standards are essential in demanding industries like dental and medical technology, as well as aerospace.

The singlemode lasers in the TruFiber P family offer maximum design flexibility and enable material and weight reduction through their precisely focusable beam quality. The stable laser power and beam guidance ensure repeatable results and high-quality part properties, even with delicate structures and complex inner contours that conventional methods cannot achieve.

One system. All TRUMPF.

A laser on its own is not a solution. Only when combined with precise optics, intelligent sensors and bespoke services can a system be created that makes your applications possible and ensures reliable processes. In TRUMPF, you have a partner who not only delivers technology, but reliable process results – solutions that tangibly advance your production and pay off through sustainable success.

Programmable focusing optics PFO 20

Optics

Guide and focus the laser beam

Overview

Optics focus the laser beam precisely on the workpiece – exactly at the point where processing takes place. TRUMPF offers two variants here:
Traditional laser focusing optics (BEO) focus a laser beam on a fixed processing point. To cover the processing surface, either the optics or the workpiece must be moved.
Programmable focusing optics (PFO) flexibly direct the laser beam to any position in the processing field with the help of mirrors – without any mechanical movement of the workpiece or optics. All optics can be combined via an interface with various sensors for process monitoring – from TRUMPF or third-party suppliers.
