Flexible in production
Our TruFiber S lasers are highly versatile, with applications including mechanical and plant engineering, sheet metal processing and the automotive industry. With up to 12 kW of power and up to two plug-in laser outputs, they can be seamlessly integrated into production lines and easily adapted to new processes as production tasks change. We provide everything from a single source – at TRUMPF, the laser, control, beam guidance, processing optics, cooling unit and sensor system are optimally adapted to one another.
What sets the TruFiber S apart
With up to two plug-in laser outputs, you can work on one station while the other is being prepared, helping to avoid idle times. Work can be carried out consecutively at full power or simultaneously at reduced power.
The plug-in laser outputs on the 50-metre laser light cables enable plug-and-play in self-service, along with flexibility in the production layout. The optional absorber also facilitates maintenance and remote diagnostics during operation.
With innovative BrightLine Weld beam shaping, you can achieve virtually spatter-free welds, even at elevated feed rates. The technology uses a patented 2-in-1 laser light cable, which allows you to distribute power flexibly to the fibre core and fibre ring.
TruControl is the fastest and smartest laser control on the market. It enables you to control your laser directly and without external modules. The system assumes real-time laser power control, and also allows you to program optics and sensor systems.
Active power regulation keeps the laser power constant to within +/-1%, ensuring consistently precise processing results throughout the entire service life. The robust and dust-repellent design guarantees maximum reliability in 24/7 operation.
Further advantages
-
Global consulting and rapid support
Why have five contacts when one will suffice? We supply a complete system from a single source – and also provide 24/7 support, wherever you are in the world. Our experts provide a wealth of advice on application, materials, process parameters, and the optimal combination of laser, optics and sensor systems. -
Safe and reliable with PLe
The TruFiber S meets the highest safety level, Performance Level e (PLe). Redundant safety systems and rapid error detection increase production reliability – without the need for additional measures on the laser itself.
The TruFiber S in use
Do you want high-quality, dense and visually flawless weld seams with minimal reworking for materials such as mild steel, stainless steel or even copper and aluminium? The TruFiber S is the ideal choice for those who perform macro welding applications with a lot of power and high throughput. You benefit from a high-end fibre laser with numerous features from the TRUMPF portfolio that enable maximum flexibility – tailored precisely to your production and supplemented by worldwide support, around the clock.
Welding busbars
Welding busbars
High electrical conductivity, mechanical stability and low-spatter processes are crucial when welding battery terminals to live electrical rails. In addition, height variations must be accurately detected and reliably compensated.
The TruFiber S with BrightLine Weld creates precise and repeatable weld joints with minimal heat input. The high beam quality ensures fast cycle times – ideal for productive and stable series production.
Welding can-caps
Welding can-caps
The gas-tight sealing of prismatic battery cells must ensure a robust connection and uniform welding depth. In addition, metal spatter must be avoided and heat input minimised to protect internal battery parts.
The TruFiber S multimode fibre laser has the beam quality required for various material thicknesses and part sizes. BrightLine Weld achieves low-spatter welding. Active power regulation also ensures consistently repeatable results for reliable and stable sealing performance.
Laser welding of electric motors
Laser welding of electric motors
Hairpin contacts in electric drives require low-porosity weld seams for optimum conductivity and fatigue strength. In addition, short cycle times and comprehensive quality documentation are essential.
The TruFiber S laser with BrightLine Weld ensures low-spatter welding and maximum energy input into the weld spot. Active power regulation ensures consistently repeatable results, while the optional sensor interface enables integration of proven process monitoring systems for quality assurance and documentation.
Remote welding in the automotive industry
Remote welding in the automotive industry
When welding crash-relevant parts, the weld seams must exhibit high fatigue strength to ensure reliable performance, even under accident conditions. Complex, 3D geometries, such as C clamps, place additional demands on the welding process.
The 3D optics of the TruFiber S guarantee precise and stable weld seams, even on complex parts. The ability to supply multiple work stations with a single laser enhances both efficiency and process flexibility.
One system. All TRUMPF.
A laser on its own is not a solution. Only when combined with precise optics, intelligent sensors and bespoke services can a system be created that makes your applications possible and ensures reliable processes. In TRUMPF, you have a partner who not only delivers technology, but reliable process results – solutions that tangibly advance your production and pay off through sustainable success.
Optics
Guide and focus the laser beamOverview
Optics focus the laser beam precisely on the workpiece – exactly at the point where processing takes place. TRUMPF offers two variants here:
Traditional laser focusing optics (BEO) focus a laser beam on a fixed processing point. To cover the processing surface, either the optics or the workpiece must be moved.
Programmable focusing optics (PFO) flexibly direct the laser beam to any position in the processing field with the help of mirrors – without any mechanical movement of the workpiece or optics. All optics can be combined via an interface with various sensors for process monitoring – from TRUMPF or third-party suppliers.
