What makes the Flex Cell with TruBend 7050 special
With FlexCell, you can operate the TruBend 7050 either manually or automatically. The mobile robot cell can be docked and undocked in just a few minutes. This makes it easy for you to transition to automated manufacturing while still operating the machine manually as required.
TecZone Bend generates a suggested bending program from 2D or 3D data in seconds, whether in the office or directly at the machine. You can adjust this at any time, for example, if you want to use different tools, grippers, or grip points. Real-time collision checking immediately shows how changes affect the bending process. This eliminates the need for complex and time-consuming recalculations and significantly reduces programming time. This makes it possible to automate even small lot sizes cost-effectively.
Make the most of every production shift: Thanks to its high loading capacity, the Flex Cell can process up to 2,500 parts almost autonomously. This means production can take place during additional shifts or even at weekends.
With an installation area of less than 10 m², the combination of the Flex Cell and TruBend 7050 takes up only about half as much space as a single-car garage. This means it fits into many production facilities and makes automation possible even in spaces where every square metre counts.
Tools that fit into the system
TRUMPF bending tools are not only tailored to the machine and software, but are also digitally integrated into them. Stored tool data helps to simplify programming and setup. Laser-hardened surfaces ensure the tools are durable and help maintain stable part quality. We'll provide you with the right tool for your application – either from our standard product line or as a custom-made tool. You can order or request both 24/7 from the MyTRUMPF E-Shop.
For recurring bending tasks, TRUMPF offers a very broad portfolio of standard tools, many of which are available in a variety of common designs at short notice. This also includes specially developed solutions for specific requirements, such as die with wear-resistant inserts or tools for low-indentation bending. This means you can also find a solution for bending tasks for which other suppliers do not have a comparable tool in their standard portfolio. At the same time, the tool data is stored digitally in the machine and software, helping to simplify programming and setup.
If standard tools are not sufficient for your bent part, we will develop the appropriate special tool – and provide the tool data for the machine and programming along with it. Upon request, we can test the tool in advance directly on your sheet metal, taking into account the specific material properties.
When high angular accuracy is required, sensor tools take measurements directly during the bending process and automatically correct any discrepancies. With an angular accuracy of ±0.3°, they are particularly well-suited to precision bending and small flanges, where optical measurement reaches its limits. This reduces rework and scrap, which is particularly beneficial in series production.
TRUMPF has developed the CDW (Consistent Die Width) standard tool series for short flanges, delicate surfaces, and frequently changing bending operations. The special die geometry, featuring rounded entry radii, allows for flanges that are up to 25% shorter and facilitates angle measurement with the ACB sensor. At the same time, the sheet metal slides more easily into the die. This reduces marks and protects the bending film. Consistent die widths also make it possible to set up different CDW lower tools in combination, thereby reducing tool changes and setup times.
When manual tool changes are frequent, lightweight tools reduce the operator's workload and make setup easier. They weigh more than 30% less than standard upper tools, yet offer the same load-bearing capacity and precision. For tool lengths up to 300 mm, the Safety-Click mechanism further simplifies assembly and reduces setup time.
When bending aluminium or galvanized sheet metal, material debris can accumulate on the tool and cause marks on subsequent components. The LASERdur AL coating for aluminium and the LASERdur ZN coating for galvanized sheet metal protect against such buildup and ensure good sliding properties. This reduces indentations and ensures consistently accurate bending results. In addition, the coated tools are corrosion-resistant and do not need to be cleaned.
Something you can rely on
A machine will support your manufacturing operations for many years. It's good if you can rely on the partner behind you for just as long. We'll support you right from the start in getting the most out of your machine. And we'll be right by your side if you want to further develop your manufacturing processes or need support during everyday operations.
