Show a sharp edge

– even though parts and tasks change every day

Different parts, varying lot sizes, and tight deadlines are all part of everyday manufacturing. The TruBend Series 3000 is an all-around machine designed specifically for this purpose. With premium features such as the ACB Laser angle measuring system, Touchpoint control, and the 5-axis backgauge, you can produce precise parts from the first part onwards, set up new orders quickly and intuitively, and remain flexible even when working with different components. The comprehensive range of standard equipment makes everyday life easier today and leaves scope for the more demanding tasks of tomorrow.

What makes the TruBend Series 3000 special

– your special features at a glance
Precision from the very first part thanks to automatic angle correction
Precision from the very first part thanks to automatic angle correction

The angle sensor ACB Laser takes non-contact measurements of the bending angle, directly on the component, and automatically corrects any deviations. This allows you to achieve angular accuracy of up to ±0.3° or better, even when material properties vary. This ensures precise results from the very first part and reduces rejects and rework.

More machine time for bending – thanks to offline programming
More machine time for bending – thanks to offline programming

TecZone Bend lets you program new orders offline in the office instead of using valuable machine time for this task. Here's how to keep the machine from becoming an expensive desk: Using 2D or 3D data, the software automatically generates a proposal for the bending sequence and tools, and checks it for potential collisions. The next order is ready to go as soon as the current one is completed.

Greater control when working with heavy sheet metal – thanks to a bending aid
Greater control when working with heavy sheet metal – thanks to a bending aid

If workpieces are large, heavy, or unwieldy, the bending aid provides support directly on the component. It can carry parts weighing up to 150 kg and automatically adjusts to the tool height. This reduces the operator's workload, makes it easier to guide the sheet metal precisely, and ensures greater stability, even with thin sheets that have long flanges.

Faster production of the finished part – thanks to a state-of-the-art control
Faster production of the finished part – thanks to a state-of-the-art control

The Touchpoint control displays the 3D views of the component relevant to the current step, making each step easy to understand. With multi-touch, you can operate the machine even while wearing gloves. This will help you get to grips with it quickly and work your way intuitively through the entire bending process.

Bend tall nests – due to large open height
Bend tall nests – due to large open height

Tall nests and complex parts require space: With a usable open height of 615 mm, the TruBend Series 3000 provides the necessary clearance to bend even tall nests safely. The standard tools can remain set up – there is no need to switch to special tools.

Everything you need to get through your day

– because the right equipment makes all the difference

You decide which features your manufacturing process needs. TRUMPF provides the right equipment. Standard and optional features support programming, setup, operation, part quality, ergonomics, safety, and drive systems. They speed up processes, reduce errors, and keep the machine running smoothly.

Create bending programs from 2D or 3D data at your desk or at a separate workstation while the machine continues production. This ensures that no valuable production time is lost when programming the next parts.

Allows new orders to be programmed directly on the machine without the operator needing to use a separate CAD workstation. This makes it possible to fulfil even last-minute orders quickly.

Hydraulically secures the lower tools at the push of a button with consistent clamping force. This saves time, especially when tools need to be changed frequently during small series production.

Secures the upper tools with Allen screws. This is beneficial if tools are changed infrequently, such as in the case of long-running profile jobs.

Hydraulically secures the upper tools at the push of a button with consistent clamping force. This saves time, especially when tools need to be changed frequently during small series production.

Plans the setup plan across multiple orders. This allows multiple parts to be manufactured with a single tool setup. This reduces the number of setup operations and increases the machine utilisation rate.

Intuitively guides the operator through the programming and bending process via the touchscreen monitor, supported by 3D graphics of the component and the machine. This also helps new employees get up to speed quickly – which shortens the onboarding process.

Allows drawings, documents, or software applications to be displayed simultaneously on an additional monitor. This makes programming and operation directly on the machine easier.

Automatically loads the appropriate bending program by scanning a Data Matrix Code or bar code. This reduces the time spent searching and prevents mix-ups with similar parts.

Automatically compensates for warping in press beams and tables using crowning. This reduces setup time and ensures consistent bending angles across different materials and sheet thicknesses.

Makes it easier to position components with different geometries, such as narrow profiles or nests. The gauge fingers automatically adjust to the part geometry and bending position and support the sheet metal where it rests securely. This allows parts to be marked out with repeatable accuracy and aligned with less manual effort.

Makes it easier to position complex geometry, such as slanted or trapezoidal workpieces. In addition, the 5-axis backgauge allows for lateral stopping or clamping, such as when manufacturing tabs. This allows components with non-parallel edges to be securely clamped and bent with dimensional accuracy.

Measures the bending angle non-contact, directly on the component, and automatically corrects material deviations. This ensures that the angle fits perfectly right from the first part – even with variations in the material batch or sheet thickness.

Supports heavy or large sheet metal parts during loading and positioning in front of the machine. This makes it easier to feed the material in an orderly manner and reduces the operator's workload.

Helps guide heavy or bulky parts during bending. This allows even large workpieces to be handled safely and ergonomically by a single person.

Provides even lighting throughout the entire work area. This allows the operator to reliably identify contours, tools, and positions even under changing lighting conditions.

Monitors the danger zone with a light curtain and stops the machine immediately if the operator touches the light curtain. During a tool change, the monitored area can be manually set to the new tool height.

Secure the rear and sides of the machine against unintended access – depending on the model or series – using mechanical sliding doors, side-hinged safety doors, or a motorised roller shutter. This ensures that they meet the requirements of the safety standard and protect operators and others.

Delivers drive power only when it is actually needed. This reduces energy consumption and noise levels during continuous operation.

Distributes the press force more evenly across the press beam instead of applying it at just a few points – this feature is exclusive to TRUMPF. As a result, the beam barely deforms under the load, so the bending angle remains constant along its entire length, and less crowning is required.

Tools that fit into the system

– tailored to the machine, software, and bending process

TRUMPF bending tools are not only tailored to the machine and software, but are also digitally integrated into them. Stored tool data helps to simplify programming and setup. Laser-hardened surfaces ensure the tools are durable and help maintain stable part quality. We'll provide you with the right tool for your application – either from our standard product line or as a custom-made tool. You can order or request both 24/7 from the MyTRUMPF E-Shop.

ALL TOOLS
Standard tools
Standard tools

For recurring bending tasks, TRUMPF offers a very broad portfolio of standard tools, many of which are available in a variety of common designs at short notice. This also includes specially developed solutions for specific requirements, such as die with wear-resistant inserts or tools for low-indentation bending. This means you can also find a solution for bending tasks for which other suppliers do not have a comparable tool in their standard portfolio. At the same time, the tool data is stored digitally in the machine and software, helping to simplify programming and setup.

Special tools
Special tools

If standard tools are not sufficient for your bent part, we will develop the appropriate special tool – and provide the tool data for the machine and programming along with it. Upon request, we can test the tool in advance directly on your sheet metal, taking into account the specific material properties.

Bending tools with a lightweight design
Bending tools with a lightweight design

When manual tool changes are frequent, lightweight tools reduce the operator's workload and make setup easier. They weigh more than 30% less than standard upper tools, yet offer the same load-bearing capacity and precision. For tool lengths up to 300 mm, the Safety-Click mechanism further simplifies assembly and reduces setup time.

ZN coating
ZN coating

When bending aluminium or galvanized sheet metal, material debris can accumulate on the tool and cause marks on subsequent components. The LASERdur AL coating for aluminium and the LASERdur ZN coating for galvanized sheet metal protect against such buildup and ensure good sliding properties. This reduces indentations and ensures consistently accurate bending results. In addition, the coated tools are corrosion-resistant and do not need to be cleaned.

Sensor tools
Sensor tools

When high angular accuracy is required, sensor tools take measurements directly during the bending process and automatically correct any discrepancies. With an angular accuracy of ±0.3°, they are particularly well-suited to precision bending and small flanges, where optical measurement reaches its limits. This reduces rework and scrap, which is particularly beneficial in series production.

CDW Bending Tools
CDW Bending Tools

TRUMPF has developed the CDW (Consistent Die Width) standard tool series for short flanges, delicate surfaces, and frequently changing bending operations. The special die geometry, featuring rounded entry radii, allows for flanges that are up to 25% shorter and facilitates angle measurement with the ACB sensor. At the same time, the sheet metal slides more easily into the die. This reduces marks and protects the bending film. Consistent die widths also make it possible to set up different CDW lower tools in combination, thereby reducing tool changes and setup times.

The TruBend Series 3000 in action

– perfect for typical tasks involving a mix of parts

Whether profiles, nests, covers, or functional parts: These application examples show how the TruBend 3000 reliably handles typical bending tasks with a mix of parts.

Bending sliding plates for slat cleaners

Bending sliding plates for slat cleaners

The sliding plate of a slat cleaner requires several tools and tool positions. To ensure the component is produced without defects, the operator must correctly assign each bending step and position the part precisely at each station.

The Touchpoint control displays the required tool and component positions for each work step. This allows the operator to immediately see what the next step is, position the part securely, and produce even complex profile parts without errors.

Bending corners to exact specifications for covers

Bending corners to exact specifications for covers

A cover for a hydraulic cabinet must fit perfectly and have precise external dimensions. Even during the first bend, the rolling direction, material batch, or sheet thickness can affect the angle and result in inaccurate corners.

ACB Laser performs a non-contact measurement of the bending angle directly on the component and automatically corrects deviations. When used in combination with TruTops Boost, it produces precise bending programs and consistent results for sealed corners and dimensionally accurate covers.

Bending gripper covers with open angles

Bending gripper covers with open angles

The cover for a moving gripper component requires open angles greater than 90°. To ensure that the cover is manufactured to fit perfectly, the bending angle and component position must be exactly correct at every bending step

ACB Laser ensures precise bending angles, even with open bends. The 5-axis backgauge ensures that the component is precisely aligned during each bending step. This ensures that the covers are produced to a consistent quality.

Bending small functional parts such as sensor holders

Bending small functional parts such as sensor holders

A holder for an optical sensor must be manufactured with precision, even for small lot sizes. Angular accuracy and repeatable stop positions are crucial to ensuring that even the first part fits and that production remains cost-effective.

ACB Laser measures the bending angle directly on the component and automatically corrects deviations. This allows you to achieve the required angular accuracy right from the first part and to manufacture sensor holders cost-effectively, even in small lot sizes. For small-batch production where quick tool changes are required, the hydraulic tool clamp and the Safety-Click system are also helpful. It holds upper tools securely in place during tool changes, so that they can be easily fitted and then locked into position.
