TRUMPF is modernizing the production areas for machine frames and the painting facilities at its Haguenau site and is strengthening sustainability through photovoltaics and heat recovery.
TRUMPF modernizes its production site in Haguenau
Ditzingen (Germany) / Haguenau (France), February 18, 2026 — TRUMPF has officially launched the modernization of its Haguenau site. The aim of the project is to comprehensively modernize the existing production capacity at the site. This will strengthen both quality and competitiveness in order to secure the long-term future of the site.
"With the modernization that has now begun, we are making a targeted investment in the future viability of our Haguenau site — and in doing so, we are being resource-efficient with a focus on competitiveness and quality assurance," says Till Küppers, Managing Director of Production at TRUMPF Machine Tools.
"The modernization of the plant secures jobs, improves the infrastructure for our colleagues, and sends a clear signal not only about the competitiveness of European production sites, but also about sustainability in practice. We want to significantly reduce CO2emissions—we will achieve this through the planned photovoltaic installations and heat recovery systems. I am particularly pleased for our employees that the plant modernization coincides with our
40th anniversary in Haguenau," adds Tomas Wolf, head of the Haguenau site.
The modernization will increase the production area by around 6,100 m²to 27,800 m², which is equivalent to almost four soccer fields.
The construction measures include:
- Relocation of parking areas to create construction space and optimize internal logistics.
- Construction of a new production hall with modernization of the paint shop to optimize production processes and ensure manufacturing quality standards. This also includes relocating the shipping area for machine frames.
- Installation of a photovoltaic system on suitable building and parking areas to reduce the CO₂footprint and support energy-efficient production.
Construction schedule
- Start: February 2026 (construction work will be carried out in phases)
- First phase: Relocation of parking lot
- Further phases: Hall construction and paint shop modernization, commissioning of PV systems
About the TRUMPF site in Haguenau (France):
The plant was founded in 1985 with 11 employees at the time as part of the relocation of individual production areas from the main plant in Ditzingen (Germany). Today, more than 110 employees work in Haguenau. Within the TRUMPF Group, the Haguenau plant specializes in the manufacture of machine bodies for all punching and laser machines. After complex welding processes, the machine bodies are painted and then machined on ten state-of-the-art large-scale machining centers. In the TRUMPF Group's assembly plants in Hettingen, Ditzingen, and Grüsch (Switzerland), they are finally turned into machine tools for punching and laser processing.
The last plant expansion in Haguenau took place in 2012. At that time, the production area grew by almost 7,000 m² to a total of 21,700 m².
The expansion that has now begun will increase the production area by a further 6,100 m²to 27,800 m², which is equivalent to almost four soccer fields.
