New assembly hall for TRUMPF machine tools in Teningen

Groundbreaking ceremony for modern production hall

Teningen, March 27, 2017 – TRUMPF Werkzeugmaschinen Teningen GmbH is modernizing its headquarters. At the start of this year, demolition work began on old buildings that had already stood empty for years. Now, the groundbreaking ceremony for the new building has taken place: a new warehouse and a modern production hall will be built on a site measuring 3,700 square meters. In the future, the new buildings will house the main assembly line for the bending machines, plate shears and automation units manufactured at the site, and also provide space for offices, e.g. for production control. Additional storage areas for construction and spare parts are also planned.

“Thanks to a good, joint coordination, we’ve been able to get TRUMPF’s building project on the way and it is always nice when you see plans become reality”. With these words, Heinz-Rudolf Hagenacker, mayor of Teningen, welcomed all attendees of the groundbreaking ceremony on March 24, 2017. The investment in the modernization measures amounts to 7 million euros. The shell is to be built by July 2017, and completion is planned for the spring of 2018.

Reinhold Gross, General Manager of TRUMPF Werkzeugmaschinen Teningen GmbH, had this to say about the construction work: “With these modernization measures, TRUMPF is underscoring the importance of the Teningen site. The specialization in high-tonnage bending machines and special applications within a compact environment is bearing fruit. This is reflected in clear double-digit growth rates, and it makes investing a modern production environment all the more important”. The company develops and produces bending machines and guillotine shears in Teningen, and also assembles loading units for TRUMPF laser tube cutting machines. It currently employs around 130 people, including 10 trainees.
